#49: Martin Williams - CEO M restaurants / Gaucho

After coming to London aged 18 to study Acting followed by a short but successful acting career, Martin entered Hospitality Management in earnest twenty years ago. Following stints as a General Manager and Area Manager working with the Wok Wok, Christophers and Zizzi brands, he joined Gaucho in 2005 and spent 9 nine years working his way up the leadership ladder as the company expanded. Leaving the group and his position of Managing Director in 2014, Martin entered the world of that of the Entrepreneur and founded the multi-award winning M restaurant group which after 4 years of growth enjoyed a full circle acquisition, which saw Martin take the helm as CEO of both M and Gaucho brands in 2018.

The primary role of a leader is to create and articulate an exciting, challenging but achievable vision, then to surround oneself with a talented team, who understand and live to these values and beliefs to drive ambitious success, with constant mentoring.
