Life is too grand to have a meaning and purpose
Life should be embraced without seeking a specific meaning or purpose. The grandeur and complexity of life cannot be limited to a singular definition. Embracing life as it is, without the pressure of assigning meaning or purpose, allows for a more joyful and free experience.
Follow your own intuition and inner voice
Listening to others is important, but ultimately, you should trust your own intuition and inner voice. Others may offer advice and opinions, but only you know what is best for yourself. Trusting your own judgment and staying true to your own values will lead to a more fulfilling life.
The importance of keeping a pure heart and good intentions
Maintaining a pure heart and good intentions throughout life is a valuable trait. Regardless of the mistakes and challenges faced, staying true to oneself and always approaching situations with good intentions leads to personal growth, empathy, and a deeper understanding of others.
Life is a puzzle to be figured out
Viewing life as a complex puzzle provides a different perspective. Rather than seeking concrete answers or meanings, embrace the journey of deciphering life's mysteries and finding one's own path. Life is full of ups and downs, but the process of figuring it out creates growth, self-discovery, and fulfillment.
Appreciating the interconnectedness of opposites in life
Recognizing that life is a dynamic interplay of opposites is crucial. The tough times and setbacks often hold within them the potential for growth and kindness in the long run. Embracing the ebb and flow of life's experiences, without categorizing them as good or bad, allows for a more balanced and accepting outlook.
Vinod Sethi served as Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, until February 2001 and served as its Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for 12 years. He has maintained a low public profile all these years, but he is a veteran in the Indian equity investment space with an experience of more than three decades. The little I have read and known about him, I find a man who has not been just a multidisciplinary thinker but also a true Karmayogi who has combined his inner voice at a number of times with mindful decisions and rightful efforts.
