Stop Cheering for Horse Racing. With Patrick Battuello & Nicole Arciello | Ep. 27

Queen Elizabeth II reigned over the United Kingdoms and the Commonwealth for 70 years, making her the second longest reigning monarch in history. She is remembered for her sense of duty and her devotion to a life of service, which made her a beloved and respected figure worldwide.

However her legacy is not all good as she is also remembered as being a passionate supporter of horse racing, thus contributing more than anyone else to giving a cover of prestige to a horrific industry.

In footage provided by The Telegraph years ago, she is seen visiting her stables and saying something quite peculiar at the sight of one of her horses: "I often wonder what goes through her head."

To answer the Queen's wonderment, I have with me Patrick Betwello and Nicole Arcello. Patrick is the founder and president and Nicole the executive director of the animal rights organization Horseracing Wrongs. The organization's mission statement reads: "Horse Racing Wrongs is a non-profit committed to ending the cruel and deadly horse racing industry in the United States."
