In this hard-hitting excerpt from Futurist Gerd Leonhard's Oct 19 2021 keynote for the Chilean Telecom Company Entel and the Catholic University of Chile (held remotely of course:)Gerd outlines why he thinks the future is better than we tend to think. 3 things (he calls them the DDR) are determining the next few years: Digitization, decarbonization (sustainable everything) and reformation (the shift from a focus on profit and growth to a wider focus on people, planet, purpose and prosperity). 90% of the world will be connected at high speeds and low cost by 2030; virtual / augmented reality will be the new 'mobile'. Increasingly, people will work 'in the cloud' - and Education becomes the next big global opportunity. The next 10 years will bring more change than the previous 100 years.
