Brew's Cafe- Episode 10 Evelyn O'Doherty
It's not every day I get a mythological being on the podcast, but in this episode, I get to sit down with a real live Selkie (part seal, part human, all treasure) and I can assure you that they do exist. Evelyn O'Doherty is widely known as the kid you just can't get out of the water: whether she's surfing, paddle surfing, or just paddling around, very few days go by where she doesn't get in (look for her on a foil near you in the coming days!). She's also the editor, contributor, owner and "chief bottle washer" at the beautiful "Standup Journal" publication both online and in gorgeous print. I know Evelyn as the literal kid you can't get out of the water as we've actually known each other for most of our lives, having both grown up in Amagansett summers. In the episode, she shares her stories of leaving the classroom behind but remaining a teacher, making the transition from surfing to paddle surfing and back, her first paddle race (it was spontaneous and she lost) and lots of other fascinating experiences.
