In this week's episode of "The Discover Strength Podcast" I sat down with Senior Exercise Physiologist and General Manager of Discover Strength Woodbury, Jake Picht.
Jake and I discuss a concept known as "Reps In Reserve" and the idea that most trainees (even those with a lot of experience) are not great at predicting when they are approaching failure in their workouts. As we know, reaching or getting close to momentary muscle failure is extremely important to maximize the benefits of efficient, effective resistance training like clients participate in at Discover Strength.
Jake and I also discuss why this makes supervision in your workouts so important. Not only does the research support that supervision improves your strength training outcomes, it's also one of the best ways to make sure you're working as hard as possible.
I encourage you to share this episode with friends or loved ones who train on their own, and if they're interested in seeing the value of supervision, send them HERE, to sign up for a complimentary Discover Strength Introductory workout, in studio, or virtually!
