Navigating Uncertainty: Moving Forward Without All the Answers

What do you do when you know you want something more, but you can’t see exactly how to get there?

In this episode of Beyond High Performance, Jason Jaggard sits down with Novus Global Partner, David Gerber, to explore what it takes to move toward an ambitious future when the path forward is anything but certain.

For David, that question became very real when a nearly 20-year fascination with tracking lions in the African wilderness went from an idea he had repeatedly dismissed as impractical to something he could no longer ignore. What began as a personal pursuit ultimately changed the way he thinks about ambition, obstacles, uncertainty, coaching, and what it means to create a life that makes you feel fully alive.

David and Jason unpack a powerful alternative to having everything figured out: find the next track. Instead of needing a five-year plan or certainty about where the path will lead, identify the next conversation, question, decision, or action available to you and see what it reveals.

Perhaps most importantly, this conversation challenges us to think differently about achievement itself. The result you’re pursuing matters, but so does who you become in the process of pursuing it.

In this episode, we explore:

• How to move forward when you can’t see the entire path
• Why uncertainty doesn’t have to prevent meaningful action
• How ambitious goals shape who you become, not just what you achieve
• Why coaches and leaders gain credibility when they’re willing to embrace the same discomfort and growth they ask of others
• How to pursue meaningful outcomes without making your happiness dependent on achieving them
• David’s New Book: The Lion Is You
