909 As a seasoned entrepreneur and founder of the Business Model Institute (BMI), I am dedicated to creating profitable, top-notch companies through the innovation and study of successful business models.   In this research, I have discovered a lack of planning among retirement-age business owners as they transition from the C-suite and navigate how to sell their business for a fair price. The Half-Retirement Blueprint, detailed in my upcoming book “Half-Retire: Keep Your Business, Ditch the Stress” (May 2020), provides a profitable alternative to a potential undersell and abrupt shift in leadership; it provides a structured retirement plan for business owners that enables them to shift from working income to equity income by owning, rather than working for, their company.  I have authored two books on best practices for business models, “The 51 Fatal Business Errors and How to Avoid Them” and “Business Models for Dummies,” compiled through years of research and real-world lessons as a business owner and consultant.
