The Power Of Chengdu Community Radio With DJ Aymen & Kaishandao
Episode 16 is here! Shannon gives updates on the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic right from the epicenter in New York City. She's still stranded in NYC as the situation grows worse in the states. However, things seem to be returning back to normal in China. In Chengdu in particular, now that the virus has subsided, the nightlife scene is slowly reopening bars and clubs for people eager to hit the town and dance again. But what will nightlife look like moving forward?Kristen Ng joins Shannon for a nice interview about some of the uncertainty the scene faces. Performing under the alias "Kaishandao" Kristen's been making club ready "4 to the floor" beats and performing a lot in the city. Kristen also co-runs Chengdu Community Radio alongside DJ Aymen, the booking manager and resident DJ at Chengdu's leading underground club TAG. CDCR is an online radio station that opened earlier this year in Chengdu to give a space to the city's super talented DJ's, artists and storytellers. They work to create immersive online stream experiences of each show; with genres spanning from Techno, Leftfield to Hip Hop.
