After an archeological discovery in the 2nd half of the 19th century, historians found out that there was an even older ancient Greek Civilization that lived in the same region of the Aegean Sea a thousand years before the Ancient Greeks. This was a Bronze Age civilization of Greece. Their discovery is attributed to a German Archeologist named Heinrich Schliemann. He used the old stories of Homer and the Illiad to find these locations.
The History of Modern Greece covers the events of the Greek People from the fall of Constantinople in 1453, to the Greek War of Independence in 1821-1832, all the way through to the Greco-Turkish War from 1919 to 1922.
