4. Finding What Works :: Michael Stipkala
Michael Stipkala is an Ohio-born multidisciplinary artist, illustrator, and peer-specialist counselor currently based in Staten Island, New York City. He utilizes art as a tool for building community, healing, health, wellness, recovery and education. When his art-making fell short of fulfilling his personal and emotional needs, he put his work on hold and turned to mediation, breathing practices, and mental health work. In this episode we talk about self-work, managing our minds and emotions, mental habits and routines that keep us stuck, defining success, incubation periods in the art-making process, and much more.
