#130 - S5E10 - From Army Officer to Helping Veterans Find Purpose
After his military service, Jon Snider experienced a “less-than-ideal” transition into the civilian workforce. It would be this experience that would later motivate him to support transitioning service members in the Greater Nashville community and go on to apply and be selected to be the inaugural chapter chair of the HCA Healthcare Nashville-Corporate Veterans Colleague Network. As the new program manager of military affairs for HCA Healthcare, Jon aspires to honor the legacy that Avery King left for the organization by elevating the programming to strengthen workforce pipelines through the veteran and transitioning service member communities, increase collaboration with community partners that align with the vision of the military affairs program, and advance the professional development of internal veteran and military spouse colleagues in order to enhance the support of the HCA Healthcare mission.
Jon holds many military and civilian honors to include a master’s of science in healthcare quality and safety from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, 2021 graduate from the American Medical Association’s Health Systems Science Scholars Program, 2020 graduate from the HCA Healthcare Leadership Institute Academy, and a bachelor’s of science in community and public health from Middle Tennessee State University. Outside of work, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife and two children (ages 4 & 1), by exploring hiking trails of middle Tennessee, attending sporting events like Nashville Sounds and Nashville Predators, and enjoying live music experiences that Nashville has to offer.
