041. "I used sugar to calm my anxiety": Jennifer

Like many of us, Jennifer's sugar story goes way back.

Her health-conscious mom had the family try all kinds of diets, and her dad and her grandparents had a huge sweet tooth. And this solidified Jennifer's sweet tooth.

She experimented with different ways of eating and various diets in order to control her weight and her health. And now she works as a coach to help people eat healthier.

During Covid, she realized that she and her husband were having a dessert after every meal. It was due to the anxiety they were living during this time. It's a pattern that she recognizes in herself: she uses food and alcohol as a way to numb, soothe, check out, and calm her anxiety.

In this episode, Jennifer talks about how her awareness and mindfulness has helped her to change her habits and her relationship with alcohol, food, and especially sugar.
