

Kate Waterford on how to reform a board to improve diversity and skills

Kate is the Chair of two organisations - AusCam Freedom Project (an anti-trafficking charity) and Australasian Birth Trauma Association. She’s also a board member at Physiotherapy Board of Australia and Corryong Health and a Councillor, AICD ACT Divisional Council. She’s also the Chair of Amnesty International Australia's Nominations Committee (and in the process of joining Governance Committee for Fred Hollows Foundation).
She was formerly the Vice Chair of Amnesty International Australia.
Kate is a non-executive director and chair specialising in the healthcare sector, and in various human rights causes, across a range of government and charity boards. Kate is also a partner of Canberra law firm Maliganis Edwards Johnson, where she leads a practice in health and medical law; and she edits a major legal encyclopedia on medical law. Kate is the eternal optimist when it comes to finding ways to work towards a better world.
