There is one part I forgot to include .. after the rising the British abducted huge numbers of prosperous Irish business men ( approx. 1800) from Dublin and brought them without trail to jails int he UK. They vanished and returned 4 months later after a horrendous voyage.. with malnutrition and scabies and no evidence that they had ever been part of the rising.. 

I didn’t learn this in school - I discovered it as part of the century exhibition at Collins Barracks.
