Dostoevsy's views on the nature of the good and its relationship to suffering is something which is not clear cut.
By understanding the relationship of the good and how it can, at times lead to suffering, with the nature of love, we are able to understand more about the world which Dostoevsky provides us with and the arguments that he wrestles with in his work.
