Deep dives
Dr. Brian Hooker's Background and Advocacy
Dr. Brian Hooker has significant expertise in vaccine research, holding a PhD in biochemical engineering and dedicating over 25 years to studying vaccines and their adverse effects. As the Chief Scientific Officer of Children's Health Defense, he aims to educate the public about vaccine safety and effectiveness, advocating for transparency in vaccination policies. His involvement in the CDC whistleblower story raised questions about vaccine practices and safety, contributing to his role as a credible voice within the anti-vaccine movement. Hooker's work emphasizes the need to understand potential vaccine injuries and the importance of informed consent for parents considering vaccinations for their children.
Concerns about Bird Flu and Gain of Function Research
A major topic discussed involves the rising fear around bird flu, particularly the H5N1 strain, which is now affecting poultry and cattle. Hooker raises concerns about gain of function research being conducted in multiple laboratories across the U.S., particularly on H5N1, suggesting it could be weaponized to transmit between humans. He emphasizes the lack of transparency regarding the scale of this research, pointing to institutions like the CDC and the University of Wisconsin as participants. This raises alarms about potential risks to public health and the potential for engineered viruses to cause future pandemics.
Financial Motivations Behind Vaccine Development
The podcast highlights the financial interests intertwined with vaccine development, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hooker indicates that pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and Moderna profited immensely, with revenues exceeding $100 billion, as they held lucrative patents tied to the mRNA technologies used in vaccines. He believes this profit motive introduces ethical concerns about the transparency and intentions behind vaccine implementations. The alarming idea presented is that some researchers may stand to gain financially from creating and promoting new vaccines, thus questioning the motives behind public health measures.
Censorship and the Silencing of Dissenting Voices
The discussion addresses the suppression of dissenting voices and how it has stifled public discourse on vaccine safety and efficacy. Hooker shares his experience of censorship, including challenges he faced while seeking to share research and findings that contradict mainstream narratives. He argues that a one-sided presentation of information limits informed public decisions and prevents people from questioning health mandates. The podcast emphasizes the need for open dialogue and the importance of allowing scientific inquiry to flourish without interference from government or corporate interests.
Increased Awareness and Skepticism Among Parents
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant increase in parental skepticism towards the childhood vaccination schedule, rising from 4% pre-pandemic to about 30% today. Hooker reflects on the positive shift in public perception regarding vaccines, attributing it to the discussions sparked by controversial vaccine policies during the pandemic. As more parents question the necessity and safety of vaccines, he sees it as a step in the right direction for public health. This growing awareness signals a change in the narrative around vaccinations, allowing for more critical examination of their risks and benefits.
Calls for Accountability and Future Vaccination Policies
The conversation concludes with a call for accountability regarding the actions taken during the pandemic, suggesting a need for a 'Nuremberg 2.0' to address the misinformation and mismanagement that occurred. Hooker reiterates the responsibility of public health officials to provide truthful information and uphold ethical standards in vaccine development. He emphasizes that without accountability, similar mistakes could recur in the future, particularly with emerging vaccine technologies. The podcast serves as a rallying cry for vigilance, urging individuals to stay informed and engaged in health-related discussions.
Brian S. Hooker, Ph.D., PE, is the chief scientific officer of Children’s Health Defense, an organization committed to the best health for children in the U.S. & worldwide. He is also professor of biology at Simpson University in Redding California where he specializes in microbiology and biotechnology.
In 1985, Dr. Hooker earned his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California. He earned his master of science degree in 1988 and his doctorate in 1990, both in biochemical engineering, from Washington State University, in Pullman, Washington.
Dr. Hooker has many accomplishments to his credit including: co-inventor for five patents, recipient of the Battelle Entrepreneurial Award in 2001 and a Federal Laboratory Consortium Recognition Award in 1999, for his work on “Reactive Transport in 3-Dimensions.” The breadth of Hooker’s over 65 science and engineering papers have been published in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Hooker has been active in vaccine safety since 2001 and has a 24-year-old son with autism. In 2013 and 2014, Dr. Hooker worked with CDC whistleblower, Dr. William Thompson, to expose fraud and corruption within vaccine safety research in the CDC which led to the release of over 10,000 pages of documents.
