Andrew McCarthy is an American actor, director, and writer, best known for his roles in popular movies such as "Pretty in Pink" and "St. Elmo's Fire". Growing up in New Jersey, he was cut from the high school basketball team but discovered his love for acting when he was cast as the Artful Dodger in an Oliver Twist school musical. Since then, he has become known for his talent and dedication to his craft.
