More families are homeschooling, but often not by choice

Home education is rising in Australia, but a Queensland study found nearly half of homeschooling families never planned on it — in fact they weren't even open to the idea. So what changed their minds?

Most of these 'accidental' homeschoolers had a child with a disability or health condition, and turned to homeschooling after difficult experiences in mainstream schools.
