If you were looking for a source of inspiration or incredulity, look no further than Mitchell Chan's NFT project from 2017. It was a piece that Mitchell Chan developed while exploring the blockchain as a new medium for art. In it he found a source of inspiration from Yves Klein which served as the foundation for his project, Digital Zones of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility.
It was the third NFT project ever created (or at least monetized) and was developed with the ERC-20 standard, pre-dating the ERC-721 that was popularized by Cryptokitties. I absolutely loved this conversation with Mitchell and think you will as well!
