The World Health Organization defines Mental Health as: “A state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community.”

While the definition of mental health itself has remined constant, attitudes towards it have changed greatly over the last few decades. Mental Health Awareness has replaced stigma and misunderstanding; there is a willingness to spread awareness and information today, as opposed to seeing mental health as an issue to be kept to oneself.
