Amir's Journey with Vision Loss

Amir Rahimi shares his profound experience of losing his vision due to a traumatic injury, which he faced in 2009. The incident involved a wooden box that caused a rupture in his cornea, leading to a detached retina and gradual blindness over the course of a year. This tumultuous time was marked by significant emotional struggles, including depression and a deep reluctance to accept his new reality as a blind individual. However, with the support of loved ones and participation in a training program, Amir began to embrace his blindness, learning essential skills and gradually transitioning to a life focused on advocacy for people with disabilities.
