Financial information is readily available online, particularly on social media platforms like TikTok, but can financial influencers truly be trusted? Jessica Inskip, director of investor research at Stockbroker.com, joins Stocks in Translation, hosted by Yahoo Finance’s markets and data editor Jared Blikre and producer Sydnee Fried, to discuss the 2025 financial landscape. Inskip highlights concerns about younger generations relying on short-form platforms like TikTok, where many creators lack experience or unintentionally spread misinformation despite good intentions. She also addresses the issue of outdated social media regulations, pointing to FINRA Rule 2210, which mandates that a compliance professional review any electronic communication sent to 10 or more people.
