242 - How To Think When You Are New
Being a real estate agent is nothing like most people think. We think our job is to show, list, and sell homes. Yes, that’s a component of being a Realtor; however, we are missing the most important parts of starting a new career: learning and lead generation.
Other careers have required apprenticeship periods. Doctors, lawyers, electricians, and hairdressers are all examples of professions that have required on-the-job learning periods. This isn’t the case in real estate.
In this episode, we look at the public perception of the daily schedule of an agent. You’ll learn the difference between being an effective agent and getting our license. Also, we look at selling a property versus getting the client in the first place. These are vastly different activities, and we need to focus more effort on the latter.
