During the 62nd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition, the Multiple Myeloma Hub spoke to Efstathios Kastritis, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, GR. We asked, What are the unmet needs in AL amyloidosis in Europe?


AL amyloidosis is a rare disease caused by the accumulation of amyloid fibers in tissues and organs. In this podcast, Kastritis outlines the need for a more accurate and earlier diagnosis of AL amyloidosis. Kastritis then discusses the need for new therapeutic strategies in patients with advanced (stage IIIb) AL amyloidosis. Finally, he mentions the need for optimized treatment in patients who relapse.
