Parthasarathy Ramanujam, Co-Founder & CTO of Etherspot, discusses the journey of Etherspot from Pillar to account abstraction. They talk about their AA Bundler, React library, embedded wallet services, and a new p2p bundler. The podcast explores challenges with gas prices, upcoming launch of decentralized bundler system, and evolution of project vision and product market fit. Navigating EVM complexity for bundlers, exploring modular smart accounts, and Etherspot's full-stack solution for developers are also highlighted.
Etherspot evolved bundlers to function as builders, enhancing user transaction success rates and privacy.
EtherSpot focused on decentralizing bundlers, collaborating with peers for a P2P setup to achieve infrastructure decentralization.
Deep dives
Introduction to EtherSpot
EtherSpot is a 4237 account abstraction service provider founded by Parta Ramanujan, the co-founder and CTO. The journey of EtherSpot began with Pillar, an earlier ICO aiming to develop a personal data locker. Their experiences led them towards smart contracts and the release of EthSPOT.
Smart Account Development
EtherSpot focused on developing smart accounts, initially working on Ethereum but later expanding to support multiple EVM-based chains like NOSIS and Polygon. They aimed to provide gasless transactions and decentralization, leading to the creation of EtherSpot Prime compliant with ERC 43.7.
Decentralized Bundler Initiative
EtherSpot worked on decentralizing bundlers following the popularization of the 43.7 spec. They collaborated with other bundler teams to implement a P2P bundler setup with a shared mempool design, focusing on achieving infrastructure decentralization and launching it publicly.
Role of Bundlers and Builders
EtherSpot evolved their bundlers to also function as builders to avoid front running issues and improve user transaction success rates. The P2P bundler setup enhanced user transaction privacy and reliability, encouraging bundlers to adopt a more active role in the block building process.

On this episode, Partha and I discuss the Pillar personal data locker, and how it led them to account abstraction and founding Etherspot. We get into the details of their AA Bundler, React library, and embedded wallet services. We also discuss the exciting new p2p bundler they've been working on, which is seeing adoption from peers in the space.
It was great getting to know more about Partha and Etherspot. I hope you enjoy the show.
