After a long career in vineyard management, Clay Shannon established his namesake winery on California’s North Coast in 1996. He chose remote Lake County for its red soil, high elevation and ideal growing conditions. Today, Shannon Family Wines has 2000 acres, half under vine, the rest preserved.
