Por la mañana, por la tarde, and por la noche express times of day using "por" meaning "in the" of morning, afternoon, or evening. - Por in these phrases does not mean "for" but denotes the time period during which something happens.

Use "por" when sending something by a means of transport, e.g., por avión, por tren, por barco. - Use "en" and not "por" when referring to traveling yourself by a means of transport, except for going by foot (a pie).

Por can mean along, through, throughout, or around when talking about location or movement paths. - Common phrases include caminar por la calle (walk along the street) and por las montañas (through the mountains).
