“ Acne is considered a chronic inflammatory skin disorder,” says skin care and nutrition expert Maria Marlowe, known as the Acne Nutritionist. “We're still by and large using products that focus on bacteria as a way to address acne, where we really need to be focusing on inflammation. And that’s where diet comes in.”
