In the first conversation on Season Two of "Creatively Me" Daniel is joined by Asbestos, an Irish street-artist whose work has been seen across the Irish urban landscape since 2003.
Asbestos is best known for the "Lost" series of prints, the Cork City mural "What Is Home" and a series of chalk drawings on blackboards that allow the public to engage and alter the piece as they wish. This work, and more of Asbestos's artistry is featured heavily in the new Irish documentary-film "Don't Forget To Remember" which chronicles his mother's lived experience with Alzheimers.
On this episode, Asbestos discusses the makings of himself as as an artist, the vulnerabilities and themes in his work and the importance of telling one's own story.
Plus, he'll give listeners a glimpse into making a film funded by the Irish Arts Council.
