Rickie Byars: Divine Love Through Music

The power of music and connection, the creative process, and spiritual alignment are all themes in this wonderful show. Our special guest is Rickie Byars, one of the most acclaimed and beloved singer-songwriters in the genre of Inspirational/New Thought music. Through her three-decade career as both a solo artist and as the music director for an over 200-member choir for 32 years, she has created the first inspirational 24-hour radio station, B-Radio, and a music catalogue of hundreds of deeply soulful songs that have struck a powerful chord with audiences around the globe. Rickie cares deeply about her community, underserved communities - in particular the treatment of African Americans - and dedicates much of her time to social activism. 

In this episode, Rickie shares with Lee her musical journey that started as a young child and includes writing her first album, her time at Agape, and the current influences as a spiritual musician. We learn more about her beloved workshop, Soul Sisters Today, what have been new discoveries for her in the last few years, and her vision for 2022. Through her music and messages in this conversation, Rickie inspires us all to do better and be better - and to demonstrate the inherent goodness within.
