Cup Of Justice Mr. Alex Campbell and Murder 101: The Documentary That Gave True Crime Its Soul Back (COJ193)
What happens when a high school sociology teacher hands his students a decades-old cold case instead of a textbook?
Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell sit down with Alex Campbell — the Elizabethton, Tennessee high school teacher behind the Prime Video docuseries Murder 101 — whose classes have spent eight years working the Redhead Murders, a string of killings of women found along Southern highways in the 1980s and written off for decades, along with other true crime cases.
Campbell tells the story of the case that started it all, we get into the FOIA scene Mandy couldn't stop texting about, explore why teenagers can see things detectives can't, and what it means that Tracy Walker got her name back.
