The Attachment Effect

“Honey, I just love being with our little guy.  Is that bad? My mom told me that it isn’t good to be too attached.  She said that it will make him too needy.  Should we be teaching him how to comfort himself?”  

“Honey, I do not agree with this at all.  I am breastfeeding, and that helps to establish a strong trust for all of us. I don’t understand why we would want to separate him from us.  He’s too young!  Why would we do that?”
