They discuss the impact of the 'great unknowing' on personal awakening, the futility of external changes, the belief of separation, embracing uncertainty, and the concepts of liberation and enlightenment.
The belief in separateness leads to suffering, but questioning the need for change and examining our thoughts can help us find inherent contentment and peace.
To overcome suffering, we must trust life fully, let go of limited interpretations, and embrace not knowing, recognizing the freedom and aliveness of our true nature.
Deep dives
The belief in separateness causes suffering
The root cause of our troubles is the belief that we are separate from life and our divine source. This conditioned belief in separateness leads to suffering, as we constantly feel dissatisfied and try to fix perceived problems. However, questioning the need for change and examining the thinker of thoughts can help us let go of the idea of separation and find inherent contentment and peace.
Trusting life and not depending on knowledge
To overcome suffering, it is important to trust life completely and not rely solely on the mind's knowledge. Our suffering arises from the false belief that we are disconnected from the divine, leading us to seek external solutions and control life to feel safe, comfortable, and fulfilled. However, true knowing comes from embracing not knowing, letting go of limited interpretations, and recognizing the ever-present freedom and aliveness of our true nature.
Questioning beliefs and recognizing the natural release
By questioning our beliefs and the sense of a separate self, we can uncover the truth of our experience. The suffering we experience is based on ideas about what we are and what life should be. Through investigation, we let go of these ideas and uncover the inherent contentment and freedom that is always present. Recognizing that interpretations are just interpretations and experiencing the natural release of the known leads to the celebration of being and the recognition of the natural state of oneness.
The invitation to notice what's already the case
The invitation is not to change or gain anything, but to notice what is already true. Understanding that interpretations and experiences are impermanent, we can let go of the need to grasp for knowledge and instead rest in the state of not knowing. This recognition of what is true reveals the freedom from needing to understand everything and allows the peace and fulfillment of our inherent nature to emerge.
