Income investing in a world of higher inflation

After a decade where most assets yielded very little, presenting a very particular challenge for income portfolio managers, 2022 has seen yields rise, but the capital values of many assets fall sharply, while inflation erodes the real value of the income generated.

So how can investors with income as a priority construct a portfolio in this climate. And is it possible, for the first time in many years, to have a portfolio which generates both a positive capital return and a decent, and growing income yield?
