Deep dives
Overcoming Comfort Zones and undervaluing abilities
One common way people hold themselves back from finding their calling is by staying in their comfort zone. This can manifest in only applying to jobs online or doing extensive online research without actually connecting with people in the field. By staying in the comfort zone, individuals miss out on opportunities for connections, insights, and unexpected directions. Another common hindrance is doubting one's abilities or undervaluing them. This can lead to a lack of confidence in pursuing opportunities or sharing one's true talents. To overcome these barriers, it is important to step out of the comfort zone, explore and connect with others in the field, and embrace and value one's own abilities.
Importance of being authentic and real
Many individuals hold themselves back by trying to present a certain image or doing what they think they should be doing. Embracing authenticity and being real can lead to more fulfillment and a greater sense of purpose. It allows individuals to tap into their true selves and pursue paths that align with their core values and passions. By letting go of the need to impress others or adhere to societal expectations, individuals can unlock their potential and find their calling.
Overcoming practicality and perfectionism
Being overly practical and striving for perfection can hinder individuals from finding and pursuing their calling. Oftentimes, individuals prioritize practicality over taking risks or exploring new opportunities. However, embracing curiosity and taking small steps outside of their comfort zones can lead to discovering new passions and interests. Similarly, chasing perfection can hold individuals back from taking action, as they may feel that they are not ready or they fear failure. Embracing imperfections and embracing continuous growth can help individuals overcome these barriers and embrace their calling.
Embracing exploration and curiosity
To find one's calling, it is important to embrace exploration and curiosity. This involves asking deep questions about what one truly wants and desires, and being open to new experiences and opportunities. It may involve stepping away from online research and actually engaging with people who are doing the work one is interested in. By approaching the search for one's calling with a sense of exploration and curiosity, individuals can uncover hidden passions and possibilities that they may not have considered before.
