It is an industry that is almost double Australia's $130 billion grocery sector, but it get's none of the hype. Here's a few more stats on the sheer size of the industry:

• 1.7m people employed, about 13% total workforce
• Total healthcare expenditure: About 10.3% of GDP
• Number of hospitals (both public and private): Over 1,300
