Importance of Building Strong Communities
Building strong communities is more important than ever. We need to prioritize the local level and focus on empowering and supporting our communities.
Realization of Government Corruption
Many veterans are coming to a realization that the government they served and fought for is corrupt. The podcast discusses the disconnect between the government and the people it is supposed to represent.
The Value of Physical Strength
Physically strong individuals tend to lean towards conservative values. The discussion highlights the importance of physical strength and how it can empower individuals.
The Need for Strong Leadership
There is a need for strong leaders who can set the tone and culture in various aspects of society. The podcast emphasizes the importance of leaders who understand the value of physical and mental strength.
The importance of rolling with all students
It can be a challenge to roll with all students, especially as the team grows. However, it is important to make an effort to roll with as many students as possible. This helps build a strong team culture and allows students to feel valued and supported.
The power of sweeping or passing a higher belt
When a lower belt is able to sweep or pass a higher belt, it is a significant accomplishment. Not only does it indicate progress and improvement, but it also boosts confidence and motivation for further growth in jiu-jitsu.
The dilemma of private lessons
Private lessons can be beneficial for individualized attention and specific techniques, but it is important for students to also prioritize training with the team and focusing on live rolling. Private lessons should not replace the important experience of training with a variety of partners and adapting to different styles.
Knowing when to delegate and trust other coaches
As a coach, it is important to trust and delegate certain responsibilities to other coaches on the team. This ensures that all students receive proper guidance and support, even when the head coach is not present. It also allows the head coach to focus on their own training and development.
The Importance of Cardiovascular Fitness
In this podcast episode, the hosts discuss the importance of cardiovascular fitness, emphasizing that it is not just about looking muscular but also having good endurance. They mention taking testosterone supplements for their fitness routines and highlight the misconception that taking testosterone only enhances muscle growth and appearance. The hosts advocate for finding a weight class and fitness level that is comfortable for each individual, and not focusing on societal expectations of having a shredded physique. They encourage listeners to prioritize their own health and well-being.
The Benefits of Testosterone Replacement Therapy
The hosts delve into the topic of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and share their personal experiences with it. They explain that TRT can be a responsible and effective way to increase testosterone levels, which can have positive impacts on mood, energy levels, recovery, and sexual performance. The hosts clarify that TRT is not synonymous with abusing steroids, given that it involves using low doses of testosterone to achieve sustainable results. They emphasize the importance of finding the right balance and dosage that works for each individual, acknowledging that everyone's body is different.
In Episode 171 I sit down with Greg Lapin and Wil Ngotel. Wil and I traveled down to Provo, Utah to join Greg Lapin and Mike Glover for the grand opening of the new Fieldcraft Jiu Jitsu training center! What an incredible weekend, hanging out with good people, networking, training jiu jitsu and filming content for the new Fieldcraft Jiu Jitsu app! As usual when I’m kicking it with Lapin, we talk lots of shit and get pretty ridiculous and this episode is no exception! My savage brown belt Wil joined us for the trip as he is getting into media and production and was assisting with the app footage, so I was happy to have him hop on the podcast as well! Please enjoy episode 171 of the Endless Endeavor Podcast.
