The Holy Innocents and the Christian battle

The Holy Innocents that we celebrate after Christmas are a striking witness to Christ's birth and to His presence in the world. As soon as Christ was born the hatred of Satan and his allays triggered. The hatred for truth and life was born as well. The Holy Infants, martyred by Herod out of hatred for Christ, testified Jesus with no word but by silently dying for Him. It is a blood Baptism. That disposition that found them ready to give their lives up for Christ, since they could not oppose any resistance, should be also our interior but conscious disposition to live for Christ and be ready to witness to His presence.
