Taylor Payne hosts a Pod on the Tyne review of the 2022/23 season at Newcastle United, one that has thrilled and astounded in equal measure. From a remarkable Carabao Cup run, culminating in a near miss at Wembley, to a Premier League campaign which built on the post-takeover momentum of last season's great escape to catapult Eddie Howe's men into the Champions League. Not forgetting, of course, a league title for the newly adopted NUFC Women's team.

The Athletic's trio of Newcastle writers; George Caulkin, Chris Waugh, and Jacob Whitehead, are on hand to share memories and stretch a ludicrous awards ceremony metaphor to its absolute breaking point as we report on a remarkable effort from, essentially, the whole squad and staff and we've a special memo courtesy of Alan (from Work) Shearer.
