In this episode we do some revision of the structural anatomy of the Tibialis Posterior muscle and tendon unit, and discuss what Jayishni Maharaj studied for her PhD with regard to its function, role in energy absorption and influence on STJ energetics. We discuss the correlation with foot posture and foot mobility, and also some of the management strategies we often use (footwear advice, foot orthoses and strengthening/exercise) along with one which many may not be aware of (increasing step width).
