There’s also one rapper in particular living in the city who is using his influence and up bringing to create powerful songs and art. 梦徐MX is his name.He’s a 2 time contestant on the popular show The Rap of China and since his appearance on the show, life has changed drastically for the Chongqing native. 梦徐MX has been making music like crazy building up his catalogue with bangers and doing this with out being signed to a major record label. The independent artist has gained nearly 24,000 fans on twitter like Chinese app, Weibo and has been touring around China promoting his music. With praises from publications like Vice and Noisey, the rapper never falters out of his chill, laid back state and remains relatively low key. 梦徐MX talks to Shannon about the inspiration behind his music, the challenges for independent artists in China, and turning down some major record deals.
