Dyslexic Design Thinking Stitch Your Story Live with Harriet Riddell
For textile performance artist Harriet Riddell, each embroidery is an opportunity for connection and collaboration. Harriet creates observational drawings with her sewing machine, often popping up in outdoor settings where wall outlets are in short supply. To power her machine, she invites her audiences to pedal a bicycle, which, in turn, generates electricity. In this episode of Dyslexic Design Thinking, Harriet joins Gil for a deep dive into her process, her career and her experiences living and working with dyslexia.
In this episode:
- Harriet’s website
- Harriet on social media: Instagram, Threads and LinkedIn
- Electric Pedals, makers of Harriet’s bicycle
- The Spire and Spoke, the pub owned by Harriet’s father, John Riddell
