The Hazards of the Sonoran Desert

The Sonoran Desert is depicted as a perilous environment, renowned for its extreme temperatures and sudden sandstorms, particularly along El Camino del Diablo, known as the Devil's Highway. This treacherous trail is marked by numerous white crosses, indicating the resting places of countless travelers who have succumbed to its harsh conditions. In one chilling story, two ranch hands find themselves trapped for two days during a sudden sandstorm, ultimately losing their horses and nearly their lives. When one rancher loses consciousness, the other witnesses a supernatural event as mysterious riders in white emerge from the storm, only to ultimately reveal the haunting fate of his companion.
