As the founder of Fieldcraft Survival, Mike Glover has taken part in shifting the colloquial concept of preparedness away from self-isolation in a bunker, instead replacing it with identifying the value in being an asset to your community. At the same time, the book The Fourth Turning has come back into vogue, spoken with the implication that we are approaching the Crisis.
First Published in 1997, The Fourth Turning presents a theory that American History operates in a 4-phase generational cycle, beginning with the High, and followed an Awakening, an Unravelling, and finally a Crisis, before restarting with another High. Now that we've both read the book, Mike Glover and Forrest discuss just what phase we are in, and what it means when we are aiming at creating a better future, instead of simply waiting for the Crisis. Preparedness, as a virtue, must aim further than the pending apocalypse.
