Peter shows through many Old Testament references, primarily the book of Isaiah, that Jesus is the fulfillment of those scriptures, that our relationship with Him is eternal, and that our suffering will be worth it.
1:3 and 1:23 “new birth”, “you have been “born anew.”” (Born Again!) (See Session on John 3 for further explanation.
1:17 “The Father (him who) judges impartially according to each one’s WORKS.
1:20 Jesus co-eternal with the Father.
1:24 Nothing lasts except the word of the Lord (and our relationship to the Lord!)
2:13 Be subject to leaders: (In Peter’s time, it was Nero!)
