This episode is the second in a series celebrating the audiobook release of Irish Mythology: The Children of Danu, narrated by Aoife McMahon and Aidan Kelly, available exclusively from Audible.

Over three episodes I'll share the first three chapters of the book, recounting the arrival in Ireland of the Tuatha Dé Danaan. This chapter is read by Aoife McMahon.

In the introduction to the book, I explain how the Irish Mythological Cycle tells of six invasions into Ireland. The first four are extremely sparse and briefly told, so I recount them in the prologue before moving on the fifth invasion, that of the Tuatha. This short chapter sets up for the first major battle between the Tuatha and the native Firbolgs, which is covered in the next chapter, The First Battle of Moytura.
