Angela Alvarez, a talented musician born in Cuba in the 1920s, developed a passion for music at a young age, teaching herself to play the guitar and piano. Despite her dreams of becoming a professional singer, her father's disapproval led her to set that aspiration aside for many years while she raised her four children in the United States. After the passing of her husband, the opportunity arose for her to reconnect with her love for music when her grandson, Oscar, discovered her collection of over 50 original songs. This rekindling of her musical ambitions culminated in a stunning performance in Los Angeles at the age of 91, where she was recorded, ultimately leading to her nomination and subsequent win at 95 years old for a Latin Grammy Award as Best New Artist.
