Episode #4 features Performance Coach Daniel Guzman. Daniel is the owner of Guzman Performance, and has worked at the highest level of professional soccer in the US as a strength and conditioning coach, having worked for both LAFC and the Galaxy as well as with the US Men's National Team. He is involved currently with 3x4 Genetics, a digital health company founded in 2018 with the mission of optimizing human genetics to improve human health and sports performance. He is also involved with GENEFIT, a software program powered by 3x4 Genetics that helps to synthesize the DNA data to make decisions for elite sports organizations.
We had an excellent conversation regarding what he is currently doing with genetics and that data, as well as the state of strength and conditioning in US soccer, how athletes should manage their athletic development, the current landscape of youth soccer, speed and strength training principles for athletes, proper warm-ups to maximize performance, and much more.
