BP buys TravelCenters for $86 a share

This seemed to pop up out of nowhere but the sale of Travel Centers was something that was pushed for quite a while - how did this deal go down?

What will be the main effect in the truck stop industry of this acquisition now with Travel Center, Love’s and Pilot Flying J with a large market share of the industry?

How does this effect BP’s oil and gas position now that they have a distribution outlet directly to the trucking community?

As far as the deal is concerned - is $86 a share a fair price for Travel Centers?
